Established in 1945, Frontier Lumber is Erie's only lumber yard that has adapted alongside the transitional changes that have taken place over the years. For 50 years, Frontier Lumber was owned and operated by Lou Carpinello. Now under the ownership of Jeff Williams, who worked for Mr. Carpinello for 14 years before purchasing the company from him 10 years ago, Frontier Lumber continues to offer lumber grades at the requirements industrial and commercial manufacturer's are seeking — while building on their exceptional services.

“Over the years, we've made changes to help the business thrive. We needed to modify the way we did business as well as the materials that we offered. As we made adaptions to prevail in a tough economy, we expanded the business to include a showroom on 38th and Peach Street — known as the Frontier Home Products and Design Center,” says Williams. “This gave us an opportunity to display our products in a convenient and welcoming location.”

The 2,000 square-foot Design Center displays today's hottest home products; showcasing beautiful PVC deck and railings, a fireplace gallery with eight burning displays of the most modern and efficient fireplace units, and extensive window and door displays. From your first step into this elegant space, you'll begin dreaming of all the possibilities for your home. The team at Frontier is committed to bringing your dreams to life. “We have the experience and expertise to help you, from design through installation,” says Williams.

As the industry has changed and Frontier has continued to focus on the homeowner, Frontier's adjustment to a more consumer centric environment allows them to reach out to more women. “While the concept of the lumberyard has been a male-dominated one, we respect and honor the decision-making role of women. We are now better equipped to serve this demographic with the addition of our Home Products and Design Center,” explains Williams. “The design center is comfortable and welcoming, and we invite everyone to see our great options for improving the look, feel, and value of your home.” “When it comes to our customers, we aim to provide a good fair price and a high quality product,” says Williams. “Our mission is simply to honor God in all that we do. We are a faith based family company that extends its mission into every aspect of our business. It's because of our commitment to care for our employees that they, in turn, offer exceptional customer service to our consumers.”

“Both of these aspects tie into the integrity of our business and our faith. We follow through on our commitments and promises because it's not simply about making money for us; it's about honoring God on a daily basis. We work hard to take your dreams and make them a reality,” says Williams.Established in 1945, Frontier Lumber is Erie's only lumber yard that has adapted alongside the transitional changes that have taken place over the years.
