For more than 60 years, Erieite drivers who have had the misfortune of getting into fender-benders have relied on Jensen's Target Collision to repair their battered autos.
Founded by Dick Jensen in 1949, Jensen's Collision was originally located at 12th and French Streets and moved to its present location at 2978 West 12th Street in 1967. Current owners Rick “Ranger” Howell and his wife Susan bought the business when Jensen retired in 2000 and added the “Target” to its name, but decided to keep the recognition value of Jensen's name.
“We operate with the same values of quality work and friendly service that Dick Jensen did,” says Howell, “and we wanted customers to know they can still find that here.”
Since buying the business, the Howells have increased its original 7,500 square feet to 16,000 square feet by purchasing the adjacent building. Here, Howell and his 15 employees—all of whom are experienced auto body technicians certified by the ASA, ASE and I-CAR—provide expert collision work and frame straightening using well-known frame equipment. As a BASF-certified collision repair center, Jensen's Target Collision also uses a paint refinishing system comprised of PGP products, including its environmentally-friendly water-based spray paint.
The shop has recently expanded into offering mechanical services as well as body repair.
Howell's almost 30 years of experience in the auto collision industry, along with the same number of years of experience of long-time shop manager Dana Randall, ensures that customers' car repairs are handled proficiently and efficiently.
Jensen's Target Collision is a licensed appraiser and works with all insurance companies to make sure customers' claims are processed smoothly. They also offer towing services and car rental programs.
“We're so sure our customers will be satisfied that we offer a 100 percent guarantee on everything we do,” says Howell. For more than 60 years, Erieite drivers who have had the misfortune of getting into fender-benders have relied on Jensen's Target Collision to repair their battered autos.
