Art's Bakery maintains the down-home feel of a neighborhood grocery store with its homemade cookies, pies and cakes, and its fresh deli. But, beyond the great foods and excellent service is something deeper. “From the outside, this looks like just a little bakery and deli,” says Gordie Evans, “but it's much more than that.”
Evans bought the business from his father, “Art,” 24 years ago and uses much of his profit to support missionary efforts to help the poor in Brazil, Ghana and Paraguay. He has completed mission trips to all three countries through his church, Asbury United Methodist. “This business is about making every day count and helping others,” Evans says.
