Shortly after World War II, when Erie got its first sound projector, Francis V. Grisé volunteered to locate rental educational films, but they could not be found in Erie. After learning that you had to rent films from places in New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Chicago, he opened the first place in Erie to rent all types of films.

Representing the third generation to operate Grisé Audio Visual Center, Don Grisé hopes to remain an innovator, standing as one of the foremost leaders in the industry on a global scale. Over the years, Don has shaped the family business from film-based work to the latest in audio/visual (AV) expertise, making it the region's only full service AV production company.

Since Don's grandfather began the business in 1947, he has kept the business in the family, working with his son James and his daughter Doris and her husband Dan DiLuzio. Today, James' children, Don Grisé and Denise Hesch, represent the third generation of the Grisé family.

“As we experience the exciting technological trends in our industry, we are very encouraged about what the future holds for us,” states Don Grisé. Don moved the company to their current location in 2011, giving them the space and capability to expand. “We want to focus on the transformation of technology into the high tech and high definition digital age,” states Don. “The acquisition of our current location allows us to do that.”

Under Don's leadership, the product portfolio has expanded as well. “We offer a gamut of services, including all aspects of audio/visual production, system integration and duplication services, and a specialization in live event production,” states Don. Grisé AV provides products and services for local businesses, schools, churches and non-profits. “Our success has allowed for us to break into the regional and international market — reaching as far as Mexico, Puerto Rico, Italy, and the Bahamas.”

Although the clientele of Grisé AV has included celebrities, artists, and politicians, Don treats every event, regardless of its size and stature, as if it were his own.Shortly after World War II, when Erie got its first sound projector, Francis V.
