The Genuine. The Original. The Overhead Door Corporation invented the first upward-acting door in 1921, accompanied by the first electric door opener in 1926. Jack and Millie Armant, owners of the Overhead Door Companies of Franklin and Greater Erie, are proud to be a part of the pioneering corporation that remains at the top of the industry by continuing to develop and improve.

From the company's beginning in 1961, their sales, service, and installation area has covered all of northwestern PA. In 1995, they incorporated as “Miljack, Inc.,” and opened The Overhead Door Co. of Greater Erie on West 23rd Street, off of Peninsula Drive. Their son, Mike Armant, now manages this location. “While many garage door companies refer to selling an ‘overhead door,' there is only one authorized Overhead Door Ribbon Distributor in Northwest PA — and that's us,” says Mike. The trademark red ribbon logo distinguishes them from all the rest.

The Armants have seventeen employees involved in sales, service, and installation, who receive factory as well as in-house training for the very specialized work that they do. Three employees have retired after working more than 20 years, while several current employees are approaching 30 years with the company. Their experience is an asset that has contributed to the company's success. Younger employees learn from that experience, while bringing their own skills and knowledge of ever-changing technology.

The Overhead Door Co. of Greater Erie has been a part of many of the major construction projects in Erie. But, they take just as much pride in every residential install that they do. No job is too large or too small!
