Beechwood Golf Club

A combination of a love of golf and extensive experience in the restaurant industry makes the Arrigo family particularly well-suited as the new owners of the Beechwood Golf Club.

“We've been a family of avid golfers our whole lives,” says owner Tony Arrigo, “and my dad has been heavily involved in the restaurant business. So when we had the opportunity to take over the Beechwood in 2013, we decided we were ready for it. We're looking forward to updating and improving an already attractive course and continuing the legacy of good customer service that the original owners, Frank and Kathleen Chernek, started.”

Designed by Frank Chernek, the Beechwood Golf Club opened in 1995 as a 9-hole course and later expanded to 18 holes in 2001. Measuring 6,485 yards from the longest tees, the course is one of only a few golf courses in the country to feature an island green (a putting green which is partially or completely surrounded by water).

“The front nine is more open, which makes it easier for beginners,” says Arrigo, “while the rest of the course includes more challenging features like the island green for intermediate and advanced golfers. So we offer a golfing experience that can appeal to all levels of players.”

Another highlight of the Beechwood Golf Club is its full bar and grill. The menu includes its famous BBQ chicken wings, which were recently voted “Erie's Best” and are only one of a total of 17 flavors.

The Beechwood Golf Club can also host special private events such as sports tournament banquets, wedding receptions, fund-raisers, or corporate outings in its 125-seat banquet facility.

With the popular features they have inherited, as well as new activities such as “FootGolf,” the Arrigos have succeeded in drawing both old and new customers to the Beechwood.
